Latest ASDA/SGA News[More]
We will be having a brief informational meeting about FNDC this Tuesday at 5:15 pm in the private dining hall. We’ll be discussing the timeline and agenda for the weekend and answering any of your questions about FNDC.
If you are planning to stay at the Westgate Resort for Friday and Saturday nights, please bring a check for $40 to the meeting. The deadline to pay for the hotel accommodations with our ASDA chapter is this Thursday, May 24!

ASDA is participating in a very exciting event this upcoming June – the Florida National Dental Convention (FNDC) will be held this year from June 14-16 at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, FL.
We had lots of Nova students attend last year and we all had a great time! We wanted to open it up to you all and see who was interested in going this year!
The FNDC is the annual meeting for the Florida Dental Association. You can register online for FREE by being an ASDA member. (YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE BY MAY 31st, and it is FREE!). This a three day event, including a meeting with the FDA House of Delegates, a 400-booth exhibit hall with tons of giveaways and great prizes, and numerous continuing education courses.(Some courses are offered FREE for ASDA members!) You all are welcome to come on Friday after class, rotations, etc. then we will all leave on Sunday morning.
Here are the facts:
- Friday night’s events include a Nova alumni reception and the “Hot Hot Hot” Latin party
- Saturday there will be a workshop from Patterson Dental called “How to Start a Dental Practice: A to Z.”(Sign up for this course for FREE when you register online.) Afterwards Freddie Salbo, our District 5 Trustee, and Phil Bell, University of Florida’s Legislative Liason, will give a presentation on all the hot topics involving Dentistry today!
- There will be a Happy Hour for Nova and UF dental students(location TBD) following Saturday afternoon’s events.
- There are many great events in addition to those listed above! This convention provides opportunities to learn valuable information about our profession as well as speak to numerous dental professionals from all over Florida.
- The Westgate Lakes Resort is a very short drive to the Gaylord and they have awesome four bedroom villas for 16-18 people at a super price of only $20 a night per person, so a total of $40 per person for both Friday and Saturday nights!!!
- You can register for FNDC online at www.floridadentalconvention.com . FOR FREE REGISTRATION YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE BY MAY 31ST.

Life Insurance Coverage includes:
